Patent monitoring is becoming increasingly complex. With exponential growth in patent filings, driven in part by AI-assisted drafting tools, manual monitoring is no longer sustainable. That’s why automation is key.
In our recent webinar, hosted by Viktor Rudolf, Product Manager at IamIP, we explored how to move from a manual, error-prone process to a fully automated monitoring workflow.
Viktor demonstrated how IamIP’s latest features work together to streamline the process:
- AI Patent Categorizer – filters out irrelevant patents so experts only review what matters.
- AI Tagger – automatically tags patents according to your company’s taxonomy.
- Smart Rules – automate distribution, notifications, and portfolio management.
A live demo showcased how these tools reduce manual work. Using the example of a bicycle company, the system identified relevant patents, tagged them by product line (brakes vs. saddles), and automatically assigned them to the right R&D experts—without an IP coordinator manually distributing documents.
The key takeaway? By combining categorization, tagging, and automation rules, IP and R&D teams can save time, reduce errors, and focus their energy on insights and strategic decisions instead of repetitive tasks.
