The IamIP Digital Patent Forum 2025 took place online from June 3rd to 5th. Over three days, we explored real stories, practical tips, and fresh ideas around smarter patent management. From strategy to hands-on platform guidance, each session offered something useful for both new and experienced users.

We began the forum by focusing on AI and how companies can make better decisions around patents and innovation.

Day 2 featured practical stories from companies using IamIP, as well as helpful sessions from our Customer Success team.

On the second day, our day kicked off with Holger Müller-Lorenschat, the head of IP of Kolbus. He shared how Kolbus uses IamIP in their daily workflows and how the platform’s features improve their efficiency.
Time-Saving Tips & Tricks in IamIP
Serhat Altun, Customer Success Specialist @ IamIP
IamIP’s customer success specialist, Serhat Altun, showed useful features of the IamIP platform like keyboard shortcuts, Examiner View, that boost productivity and can save the users a lot of time. Some of our AI features were also revisited as they can be used to make workflows faster.
Getting Started with Monitoring in IamIP: A Beginner’s Guide to Staying Updated

In addition to the previous session, Serhat Altun also provided a step-by-step guide for setting up and managing your first patent monitoring projects in IamIP.
Best Practices in Patent Monitoring: How Grundfos Built a Process Centered Around In-house Expertise
Rasmus Søby Dupont, Director of IP & Technology @ Grundfos A/S
We were happy to also hear from Rasmus Dupont, Director of IP at Grundfos as he shared how the company has developed a unique patent monitoring process. For their monitorings Grundfos’ R&D and other in-house experts play a key role in assessing new technologies from both a technical and commercial perspective. He will discussed their onboarding journey with IamIP, including the successful data migration and how they aligned internal teams to ensure a smooth transition and long-term value.
Structuring Your Patent Data in IamIP: Portfolios, Tags & Custom Fields

The second day closed with a session by IamIP’s CPO. This session focused on organizing patent data on the IamIP platform by using features like tags, custom fields, and structured portfolios.

The final day combined high-level thinking about the future of IP with tips for everyday collaboration.
The IP Manager at the Crossroads: The Future of IP Management as a Strategic Business Activity
Bowman Heiden & Ruud Peters, Co-directors @ the Center for Intellectual Property
We were honored to feature two experts in the field of intellectual property. 25 years ago, a concerted effort by the IP community was initiated to raise the role of the IP manager to a senior business strategy level in technology companies. CIP was in the forefront of this development from academia, and Philips (with Ruud Peters) was the leading example from industry. This session highlighted the persistent obstacles that limit the business relevance of IP and IP management and the choices that IP managers and professionals must consider now consider to change their trajectory from an operational IP rights perspective to a business strategy perspective focused on competitive advantage.
Collaborating with Your Team in IamIP
Stefan Jorias, Customer Success and Patent Specialist @ IamIP
Stefan showed how to work better as a team inside IamIP using shared folders, reviews, and workflow tools.
IamIP Crash Course: 30 Minutes to Master the Essentials
Serhat Altun, Customer Success Specialist @ IamIP
